Street Style Trend: Taking the Casual out of Flannel

Alright, I'll admit it, I've never been a big fan of flannel shirts, or really, flannel anything. I always found it too awkwardly casual to wear and associated them with all of those high school skateboarders, vagabonds, and people who somehow decided that wearing flannel pyjamas in public was a cool thing to do (I know, I'm terrible).  Lookbook, as life-changing as we all know it is, has totally changed my mind. In this cold weather we've been experiencing, flannel would make a welcome addition to my closet!

A great way to wear flannel shirts without seeming too casual- LAYERING.

My go-to Lookbook examples:

Under a cute blazer:

Super chill under a baggy crew neck sweater:

Pair flannel with a chunky knit for a look worthy of blogging about, hah:

Take life with a grain of salt, and your flannel with a t-shirt:

Alright, so now I know HOW to wear flannel, but where the hell am I going to FIND some?

A few places that came to mind: Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, American Apparel, Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters.

This navy check is seriously growing on me, on sale:

Take things to the next level and wear a flannel dress, on sale:

If the flannel dress didn't do it for you, maybe this vintage bralette will:

If anyone can make flannel sexy, it's UNIF:
